Our curriculum refers to everything we teach in school. This includes our subject content and lessons, and any enrichment activities we provide.
Our curriculum has been designed for our pupils by the teachers in our school. It is designed to ensure that all pupils at Wattville Primary School receive an integrated, coherent package of learning that contribute towards their personal and academic learning and development, both now and in the future. The purpose of our recent curriculum development work has been to ensure that the content choices, subject coverage, sequencing and progression supports our core aims and values.

Welcome to Wattville Primary School’s new look website, which we are confident you will find packed full of useful information about our school.
I have had the privilege to lead this wonderful school for over 20 years now. Our school motto, Learning and Growing Together was chosen in 2001 by the newly formed school council of the newly amalgamated Wattville Primary School and as we work hard to recover from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, it embraces our core philosophy of supporting each other as a whole school community.
Whilst we look to the future and prepare our pupils for the challenges of the next stage of their education and beyond, we are mindful that a strength of our school is rooted in the rich diversity of our pupils’ cultural and social heritage. We have designed a curriculum that values and celebrates that diversity, fostering attributes of curiosity, perseverance and a desire to succeed.
Please take some time to explore our website and find out more about our school.
At Wattville Primary School our bespoke curriculum embodies 4 key values:
We promote mutual respect between all members of the school community. We aim to foster a love of learning, and a desire amongst the children and adults in school to make the most of our time in school to gain new skills and knowledge. We foster a respect for the school building and its place within the local community and encourage children to respect the school, the local area and the environment.
We recognise the value of the way in which we work together, and support each other in school. We encourage collaboration at all levels and work hard to involve parents in their children’s learning journey.
We work hard to promote resilience and perseverance in our pupils and the adults in school, to overcome barriers and challenges and to prepare our children for the next stage of their education and the future world of work.
We appreciate the need to respond to change and to adapt our curriculum in the light of new circumstances. We encourage everyone in school to be self-reflective and to consider ways in which they can improve their own skills and knowledge and learn from mistakes.
These values run throughout the whole curriculum and govern our approach to teaching and learning, behaviour and attitudes, and progress and attainment.
